Josephine Romo, a ‘Sfogato Soprano’ can sing mezzo through soprano repertoire. Praised for her artistry, her deep rich voice envelopes and warms you with each note.
For Josephine, singing has always been her dream. She began studying voice at The Colburn School in Los Angeles, then continued her studies at the University of Redlands Community School of Music before joining the International Opera Institute.
Josephine has appeared in concerts throughout Southern California. Her roles include Tosca, Aida, Die Walküre (Sieglinde), Turandot, Cavalleria Rusticana, Madama Butterfly, Carmen (Micaela), La Boheme (Mimi), Marriage of Figaro (Countess and Susanna), and La Wally. She will debut in the role of ‘Lola’ in Desert Opera’s fall production of Cavalleria Rusticana, then she will sing the role of Micaela in Desert Opera’s spring production of ‘Carmen.’
